In recent years, Dongguan has been actively building an environment for commercial recreation with the quadruple features of “business, vacation, recreation, and tourism”, in its efforts to build an “Excellent Tourist City in China”.

    Noble villas and apartments have been built for the residence of foreigners, such as New Century Garden, Yujing Garden, and Kingsview Garden. Shopping is very convenient in Dongguan, with such large shopping centers as Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Jusco and Parknshop and Dongcheng and Nancheng Pedestrian Streets, all of which are frequented by foreigners. Dongguan has also established a complete medical care system that can meet the medical need of foreigners.

    Hotels in Dongguan are marked by rapid development and complete commercial functions. At present, the city hosts 90 rated hotels, including 7 five-star hotels, 14 four-star hotels and 33 three-star hotels. There are quite a few golf clubs in Dongguan, providing a comfortable recreational environment for foreign businessmen.

    As an international processing and manufacturing base, Dongguan has witnessed a booming development in commercial exhibitions, such as the 3C Expo, the Fashion Fair, and the Furniture Exhibition. The large exhibition centers, modernized facilities and complete services have built a great arena to bridge products of various industries to the international market. The year 2002 witnessed 57 exhibitions of various types, with a total of more than 11,000 exhibitors and more than 4 million visitors.
