SAE MAGNETICS (HK) LTD.
SAE
Magnetics (H.K.) Ltd., a wholly owned TDK subsidiary,
is the world’s leading independent provider of
magnetic recording heads, with a market share of about
40%.
The
company set up its first plant (SAE Electronics) in
Dongguan in 1989. In the favorable investment environment
in Dongguan, it has been constantly increasing its investment
and expanding production. In 1995, SAE Magnetics (Dongguan)
Plant and SAE (Dongguan) Audio-Video Plant were established.
In 1998, Dongguan Chang’an Shili Electronics Plant
was established. In the new millennium, with a view
to promoting the technical innovation and competitive
strength of the company, SAE invested heavily in the
introduction of advanced instruments and equipment from
the US, Japan and Germany and set up the largest professional
experiment center in South-East Asia. In 2003, the company
established its fifth enterprises in Dongguan, SAE Dongguan
Chang’an Electronics Plant.
At
present, SAE has built its own plants, experiment center,
joint ventures and satellite companies in Dongguan.
SAE Dongguan has become the company’s large research,
development and manufacturing base for high-tech products
such as computer disk driver heads.

15 years of investment in Dongguan, I have realized
that the achievements of SAE have a close relationship
with the superior investment environment of Dongguan:
Encouragement
from policies and support from the government is a reassurance
for foreign investors; the cost of land and labor is
comparatively low while the quality of labor is relatively
high, including both the technical and the managerial
staff; the market is easily accessible and the traffic
convenient; supply chain is complete; development of
industry is vigorous and we cherish great hope for the
future of Dongguan.
We
intend to launch new projects on a regular basis and
increase our investment in Dongguan.
